I had an amazing time on my 2 day 1 night trip to Damyang (located in Jeollanam-do) last weekend (Oct 5-6). I visited some incredible spots and I can't wait to share them with you! 1. Nature: Damyang is the perfect place to immerse yourself in nature, especially in autumn! One of the highlights is the Metasequoia trees, and trust me, they're everywhere! It’s the ideal spot to capture beautiful autumn photos you’ll want to keep forever. Another must-visit is Juknokwon, the famous bamboo forest. The entrance fee is only 3,000 won, and you get to explore a massive forest. It’s a great place to snap some stunning pictures. Lastly, I recommend checking out Damyang Gwanbangjerim Forest, which is conveniently close to Juknokwon—perfect for visiting both in one go. 2. Experience: Want to get European vibes without leaving Korea? Right next to the Metasequoia-lined Road, you'll find Meta Provence, a charming spot that feels like a slice of Europe. With plenty of cafes and restaurants, it's the perfect place to wander around, take some photos, and then relax with a drink or a meal. 3. Food: There are three things you MUST try in Damyang: Tteokgalbi (떡갈비), Noodles (국수), and Bamboo Leaf Ice Cream (댓잎 아이스크림). Trust me, you won’t be disappointed! For noodles, head to Noodles Road (담양 국수거리), located near Damyang Gwanbangjerim. It’s the perfect way to wrap up your trip, enjoying a delicious bowl of noodles while soaking in the natural surroundings.
