From the start of the tour, we were told about the history behind Seodaemun. We were able to listen to songs that marked the Korean movement and spirit during the time of the Japanese occupation and then we were taken to the main gate and greeted with an act of how Koreans fought and were imprisoned for their support of the independence movement. We were also able to enter and see the identifications of those who were imprisoned, a very moving moment. Then we moved on to the final part where we went through the experience of entering the prisons and seeing what they suffered day by day. The tour ended with words of gratitude to all the Koreans who fought for Independence and saying goodbye to them towards their imminent death. If you love history, this is a perfect place for you.
