About your trip

I have visited many amazing places, all thanks to FUNDAY Korea Network. These experiences helped me learn a lot about Korean culture, history, and traditions, and I’ll never forget them. I visited important spots like the National Museum of Korea and the Yetteo Folk Museum. At the National Museum, I saw many artifacts and artworks that told the story of Korea’s long history. One of the most meaningful parts of the trip was our visit to Donam-Seowon, a Confucian academy that plays an important role in preserving Korea’s educational and cultural history. There, I learned about the traditional Korean manner of bowing, a symbol of respect and humility in Korean society. The experience of participating in this gesture felt like a connection to the deep-rooted customs of Korea. I also had the chance to engage in traditional Korean calligraphy, a practice that requires patience and focus. This activity stood out to me because it allowed me to interact with Korean culture in a creative and thoughtful way. In the evening, we were treated to a performance of traditional Korean music played on classical instruments, such as the gayageum. The music, both soothing and powerful, was a beautiful way to end the day at Donam-Seowon and left a lasting impression on me. Another unforgettable experience during this trip was making gochujang, the famous Korean red pepper paste. This hands-on cooking activity gave me the opportunity to experience the heart of Korean food culture. It was not only fun but also an eye-opening experience into how food ties into the identity and daily life of the Korean people. I also visited the set of Mr. Sunshine, a popular Korean drama. It felt surreal to see where the show was filmed and to learn more about Korea’s film industry, which is loved by many people around the world. Overall, thank to FUNDAY, what I got was a perfect combination of cultural learning, hands-on activities, and memorable experiences. From exploring historical landmarks and museums to engaging in unique activities like making gochujang and practicing calligraphy, each moment helped me develop a deeper connection to Korean culture. This trip has not only broadened my knowledge but has also left me with memories that I will carry with me for a long time.

TIP

I went there during summer season so bring the umbrella and drink a lot of water.
