About your trip

On July 20, 2024, I embarked on an unforgettable journey to the Boryeong Mud Festival, courtesy of Funday Korea, who organized a seamless and enjoyable trip from Seoul. This annual event, held in the coastal city of Boryeong, is one of the most unique and exciting festivals in the world. It's a celebration of mud, fun, and community spirit that attracts both locals and international visitors. The adventure began early in the morning as I joined a group of enthusiastic participants organized by Funday Korea. We gathered at a central location in Seoul, and after a quick check-in, we boarded a comfortable bus. The journey to Boryeong took about 2.5 hours, filled with lively conversations and the growing excitement of what awaited us. As we neared Daecheon Beach, the festival’s vibrant atmosphere became apparent. The bus windows revealed glimpses of people covered head-to-toe in mud, laughing and enjoying themselves. Upon arrival, we were greeted with cheerful festival staff who provided us with all the necessary information and gear to start our muddy adventure. The first thing after a mud drill arranged by Funday Korea which was just like an army training and taking lunch I did was head straight to the massive mud pool. Jumping in was a liberating experience; the cool, thick mud enveloped me, and I couldn’t help but laugh out loud. Around me, people were sliding down giant mud slides, engaging in playful mud fights, and reveling in the sheer joy of the mud. Next, I stumbled upon the mud painting area. Here, people were getting creative, using colorful mud to paint themselves and each other. I joined in, and soon my friends and I were covered in a rainbow of mud colors. It felt like being a kid again, carefree and creative. One of the highlights was participating in a mud wrestling match. I stepped into the ring, unsure of what to expect, but soon found myself laughing uncontrollably as we slipped and slid, trying to wrestle each other into the mud. The camaraderie and sportsmanship were fantastic, with everyone cheering and encouraging each other.
