About your trip

Regardless of the humidity, I thoroughly enjoyed my trip to Yeosu. Here are some highlights from my experience: One of the most memorable experiences was taking the Yeosu Maritime Cable Car. It offered breathtaking views of the ocean and the surrounding islands, making it a must-do activity for anyone visiting Yeosu. I also had the chance to ride the railroad along the boundary of the sea. This unique experience provided picturesque views of the coastline, and the gentle sea breeze made it even more enjoyable. Yeosu is known for its easily accessible islands connected by bridges from the mainland. I loved taking evening walks and hikes on these islands. Odongdo and Jangdo were particularly charming, offering serene paths and beautiful natural scenery. Overall, despite the hot and humid weather, Yeosu's stunning landscapes, unique activities, and accessible islands made my trip an unforgettable adventure. I cannot assume how amazing the trip would be if it were planned during the fall or the spring.

TIP

Best Time to Visit: While I traveled to Yeosu in June, I found the summer to be quite humid. I would recommend visiting in March or September for more comfortable weather and a more enjoyable experience. Accommodation: Try to book your hotel near the Expo. This area is convenient because most of the major tourist attractions are within easy reach from the Expo station, saving you travel time and effort. Getting Around: The city is well-connected by public transportation, especially around the Expo area. Utilize buses and taxis to get around easily. Must-See Attractions: Make sure to visit the Yeosu Expo, which is a central hub for many attractions. Other highlights include Odongdo Island, famous for its beautiful camellia flowers, and the Yeosu Maritime Cable Car, offering stunning views of the city and sea. Local Cuisine: Don’t miss out on trying the local seafood. Yeosu is known for its fresh and delicious seafood dishes, especially hoe (raw fish) and grilled eel. Cultural Experiences: Explore the historic Yi Sun-sin Square and the Jinnamgwan Hall to get a glimpse of Yeosu's rich history and cultural heritage. Outdoor Activities: For nature enthusiasts, hiking in the Yeosu Peninsula or taking a scenic walk along the coastline can be very rewarding. Event Timing: If possible, align your visit with local festivals like the Yeosu Azalea Festival in spring or the Yeosu Night Sea Festival in autumn to experience the local culture and festivities. Planning with these tips will help you make the most of your visit to Yeosu!
