If you are looking for a sign to visit Namsangol Hanok Village, rent a cute little traditional soban table, and eat until you need to unbutton your pants... this is it. When I first walked in, the sheer number of traditional food and drink stalls was overwhelming. But here is a pro-tip for fellow chaotic souls: if you have no idea what to eat, just start walking. Why? Because the beautiful humans running these stalls will literally hand you free samples. I basically had a three-course meal just "deciding my favorite." And this is my feast breakdown: - Soy Sauce (Ganjang) Tteokbokki: As a loyal fan of the usual spicy gochujang version, I was skeptical. But it tasted surprisingly amazing. It's the plot twist my tastebuds didn't know they needed. - Korean Spicy Fried Chicken: Absolute perfection. Also, shoutout to the owner who looked at me, saw a hungry soul, and blessed me with an extra portion. You are my hero. - I washed it all down with some traditional makgeolli (rice wine) and milk tea, both of which were shockingly affordable. My wallet was just as happy as my stomach. There’s tons of space to just sit, lounge with friends, and digest in peace. Plus, they had live music playing, which really elevated the mood from "me aggressively eating fried chicken" to "a culturally enriched evening."
Go with your friends! It's better to enjoy your meal with other <3
