About your trip

I had the chance to visit Nami Island during my trip to Korea, and it was one of the most memorable experiences! The island itself feels like a peaceful escape from the bustling city life, and the natural beauty is truly something to behold. I took the ITX train from Seoul to Gapyeong Station, and from there, a quick bus ride brought me to the ferry terminal. The ferry ride itself was lovely, and even though the island is only about 5–10 minutes away by boat, it felt like a refreshing moment to take in the views. Walking around Nami Island felt like stepping into a dream. The trees that line the pathways are beautiful year-round, but if you visit in autumn like I did, the colors are absolutely breathtaking. The entire island is so photogenic—it’s no wonder why so many couples and families visit here for photoshoots. I found myself taking a ton of pictures, even though I knew I couldn’t quite capture the serene vibe of the place. There are plenty of spots to relax, whether you're looking to sit by the water, under the trees, or by one of the many sculptures dotted around the island. I found a peaceful spot near the riverside, had a quick snack, and just enjoyed the quiet atmosphere. It was a perfect little break from the usual tourist crowds. The food on the island was decent, but I’d recommend packing a small picnic if you prefer something more relaxed. There’s something special about eating lunch outdoors with the backdrop of the trees and the sound of the wind. By the time I left, I felt like I’d spent a day in another world. Nami Island is truly a perfect spot for anyone looking to enjoy nature, unwind, and get a little peace of mind while traveling in Korea.

TIP

Get there early to avoid crowds. Nami Island is more peaceful in the morning, and you’ll have more time to explore and enjoy the scenery without the rush of tourists. It’s the perfect way to experience the island’s natural beauty at its best.
