During my road trip from Seoul to Busan, I decided to make a stop in Daegu for a day, drawn by my deep passion for traditional medicine. One of the highlights of my visit was the Daegu Yangnyeongsi Museum of Oriental Medicine, a place that beautifully showcases the history and practices of traditional Korean medicine. Walking through the museum felt like stepping back in time to the Joseon Dynasty, an era when Koreans relied on nature’s remedies for healing. The exhibits detailed the use of medicinal herbs, acupuncture, and holistic treatments that have been passed down for centuries. What made the experience even more enjoyable was that the museum is completely free, and all the information is translated into English, making it accessible to international visitors. Beyond the museum, I took the time to explore the city itself. Daegu’s atmosphere left a strong impression on me – a perfect blend of tradition and modernity, with lively streets and welcoming locals. Although I only spent a day there, the visit was truly memorable. If you're interested in Korean history, culture, or traditional healing practices, I highly recommend visiting Daegu. It’s a city that offers a unique glimpse into Korea’s rich medical heritage while also providing a warm and vibrant urban experience.
