About your trip

Spending a day at Cheonggyecheon in the heart of Seoul is a delightful escape from the city's bustling pace, especially during the hot summer months. This urban renewal project transforms into a refreshing haven where you can walk alongside cool, flowing water, surrounded by nature and beautiful urban scenery. I started my day with a leisurely walk along the stream. The early morning sun cast a gentle glow on the water, and the temperature was just right. The lush greenery lining the stream and the occasional splash of colorful flowers made the walk incredibly pleasant. The sound of flowing water combined with the chirping of birds created a serene atmosphere, perfect for a relaxing start to the day. Around midday, I ventured towards the traditional markets near Cheonggyecheon. Gwangjang Market, one of Seoul’s oldest and most famous markets, was bustling with activity. The array of street food was irresistible. I indulged in some bindaetteok (mung bean pancakes) and tteokbokki (spicy rice cakes), savoring the rich flavors and the lively market atmosphere. The market also offered an array of handmade crafts and souvenirs, adding a cultural touch to my day. As the sun climbed higher, the shaded areas along Cheonggyecheon became the perfect spots to sit and relax. Many locals and tourists were also taking refuge from the heat, dipping their feet in the cool water and enjoying the scenic views. The numerous bridges spanning the stream provided great vantage points for photography, capturing the blend of nature and urban architecture. Evening As evening approached, the atmosphere along Cheonggyecheon transformed. The area was beautifully illuminated, creating a magical ambiance. It’s an ideal spot to hang out with friends or a lover, whether you’re enjoying a casual conversation or a romantic walk. The gentle evening breeze and the reflection of lights on the water made for a picturesque and memorable experience. To cap off the day, I headed back to the market areas which were still lively with night vendors. I picked up some late-night snacks and enjoyed the vibrant, nocturnal energy of Seoul. Cheonggyecheon at night is truly a sight to behold, with its calm yet lively atmosphere providing a perfect ending to a delightful summer day.Conc Cheonggyecheon is more than just a stream; it's a sanctuary within Seoul that offers a perfect blend of nature, culture, and urban beauty. Whether you're looking for a peaceful walk, a cultural exploration, or a romantic evening, Cheonggyecheon is the ideal destination. It’s a versatile spot that shines in both sunny days and serene nights, making it a must-visit location in Seoul.
