Pepero Day, celebrated every year on November 11th, is a uniquely Korean tradition. The date 11.11 resembles four Pepero sticks standing side by side a sweet coincidence that turned into a cultural phenomenon.
On this day, people exchange Pepero to express love, gratitude, and friendship, much like Valentine’s Day but with a playful, youthful twist.

 How Did It All Begin?

The story traces back to the early 1990s, when two high school girls in Busan exchanged Pepero sticks, wishing each other to “stay thin and tall.” The story spread quickly, and when brands caught on, Pepero Day soon turned into a nationwide mini festival. Who would have thought that such a simple story could turn into a whole special day?
