Here are some interesting terms related to dating:

👫 오늘부터 1일이다 – “Starting from today, it’s our first day” is a phrase you may hear after a love confession – a statement of a beginning of a relationship. Once you hear it, you may start counting days until your 100th anniversary.

💕 연애 세포 – ”romantic cells”, the feeling of being in love, when someone feels "alive" or more energized because of their romantic feelings.

Ex) 연애 세포가 다시 깨어난 것 같아요! / I feel like my romantic cells are waking up again!

🙈 콩깍지 – the feeling of being "blinded by love" or infatuation, a state where someone is so in love or obsessed that they overlook flaws or ignore reality, similar to how a shell (콩깍지) might cover a bean.

Ex) 미나는 콩깍지가 씌워져서, 아무리 말해도 민수의 단점을 못 봐요. / Mina is blinded by love, so no matter what I say, she can't see Minsu's flaws.

🎣 See also: 어장관리 (“managing the fish tank”) - commonly used to describe people who keep others as "options" while avoiding serious relationships, similar to leading someone on.

Ex) 지민은 여러 사람과 계속 연락을 하면서 어장을 만들고 있어요. / Jimin is keeping multiple people in contact and creating a fish tank.

Ex) 지수는 잠수 이별을 해서, 연락이 끊어진 지 벌써 한 달이 됐어요. / Jisu ghosted me, and it's already been a month since we lost contact.

🚄환승이별 – a "breakup for a new relationship," specifically when someone ends a current relationship to start a new one. It’s like transferring from one train to another (환승 means "transfer" in the context of transportation).

Ex) 태오는 최근에 환승이별을 해서, 이제 다른 사람과 사귀고 있어요. / Taeo recently broke up to start a new relationship, and now he's dating someone else.
