Today I’m taking you to a magical place: Jangseong in South Jeolla Province (Jeonnam).

This city, known as “The Yellow City,” is a unique corner of Korea where fields of flowers and golden hues create a dreamy landscape, especially in autumn. Jangseong is easily accessible by train from Seoul.

As soon as I stepped off the train, the fresh air filled me with energy,  making me ready for the mission:

exploring the city and enjoying the famous autumn flower festival.

After just a few minutes' walk from the station, we arrived at the flower festival,

where the first thing to welcome us was a bridge covered in flowers.

People gathered along the riverbanks to enjoy food, fun activities, and concerts.

The city is full of themed bridges, like a hanging flower bridge, one shaped like a dragon, and another that lights up at night, creating a magical atmosphere.

We spent several hours at the festival, enjoying every corner: games, music, traditional Korean food, and of course, *lots* of flowers! We also hopped on a little train that takes you through the festival grounds, guiding us through a sea of flowers in all shapes and colors.

It’s a perfect spot for photos and breathing in the fresh, floral-scented air.

There were even benches where you could sit back, relax, and take in the river view.

At the end of the day, we headed to our lodging, located on top of a mountain above a large waterfall.

The nighttime view of Jangseong from up there was spectacular, with the city lights reflecting on the river. The festival lights made the whole city feel alive.

The next morning, we continued our adventure. We explored the bridges, enjoying their different designs.

We had breakfast at a charming café with a cool vibe, featuring tables both indoors and outdoors, offering perfect views to relax while we enjoyed a good cup of coffee and a slice of cake.

Later, we visited the Jangseong waterfalls, an ideal spot for nature lovers.

Some of the waterfalls have paths that let you walk through them, and we also crossed stone bridges at river level, adding a touch of adventure to the experience.

Afterward, we visited a theme park with traditional Hanok houses

dedicated to Hong Gildong, a very famous character in Korean literature.

Jangseong is the kind of place that surprises you with every step,

where nature, culture, and tranquility come together to offer a truly unique experience.

If you’re looking for a getaway filled with beautiful landscapes and a touch of Korean tradition, you absolutely cannot miss visiting this place!
