Starting at Buseoksa Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage site, I was amazed by its peaceful atmosphere and beautiful view over the mountains. The temple’s ancient wooden structures, especially Muryangsujeon Hall, felt like stepping back in time. Next, at Sosu Seowon, Korea’s first Neo-Confucian academy, I saw how education and moral philosophy shaped Korean society. Walking through the quiet classrooms and gardens gave a real sense of the scholars’ disciplined lives. In Seonbi Village, the spirit of the Korean "Seonbi" (virtuous scholars) was everywhere. Traditional houses, stone paths, and peaceful surroundings made it easy to imagine how scholars once lived and studied there. Finally, Sunheung Mural Tomb was a hidden gem. The ancient murals inside were colorful, detailed, and told stories from long ago, showing the artistic and spiritual life of the time. This journey was not just sightseeing—it was feeling the depth of Korean wisdom, simplicity, and beauty. If you love culture, history, and quiet places, this itinerary is perfect.
1. Wear comfortable shoes because you’ll walk a lot, especially at Buseoksa Temple and Seonbi Village. 2.Bring water and a hat, most places are outdoors and can get hot.
